Carrying a baby for nine months has a great impact on your musculoskeletal system because of the weight of your growing baby changes your center of gravity. There is extra stress on your upper and lower back, neck, your abdominal muscles, and shoulders. Pregnancy hormones also relax your ligaments causing your pelvic joints to become less stable and by pulling your pelvis forward. This often creates chronic and acute lower back and hip pain. Studies also suggest that prenatal massage therapy may reduce anxiety and decrease symptoms of depression in addition to relieving muscle aches and joint pain. Prenatal Massage Therapy to help expectant mothers:

Reduced back pain and joint pain
Improved circulation
Reduced edema (swelling)
Ease muscle tension and headaches
Lower stress and anxiety
Have a better night’s sleep

Cold Laser system is a unique, drug-free, non-invasive and non-immunosuppressive therapeutic modality which reduces pain and inflammation right at the source. The bio-stimulating effects of Theralase laser therapy also cause an increase in tissue regeneration and accelerated healing.
There are three main types of pain, classified based on where it originates:

Somatic pain- is caused when receptors in the body surface or musculoskeletal tissues are activated. Pain usually takes the form of a dull ache and is often exacerbated by activity
Neuropathic pain- originates in the spinal cord and peripheral nerves as a result of a malfunction or injury, and manifests as a stinging, tingling, burning, or “pins and needles” sensation
Visceral pain- the most common form of pain, is caused by damage or injury to internal organs. Visceral pain is often described as deep squeezing, dull, or diffuse which can make it hard to localize
Pain from all three types can be either acute or chronic depending on duration. We all suffer acute pain from time to time; pain becomes chronic when it lasts anywhere from 3 to 6 months or if it persists after an injury has fully healed.

Chronic pain is a debilitating condition which affects many aspects of people’s lives. As anyone who has suffered from the condition can tell you, it often prevents sufferers from performing their regular activities.

As a young athlete and competitor, I discovered the importance of injury management through chiropractic treatment and manual therapies. In conjunction with managing my inflammatory arthritic condition, chiropractic care has been an immensely positive influence in my life. This led me to a developed appreciation for the chiropractic profession and for what it has to offer. The result of which has led to life-long learning of the human body and how to optimise health. With a person-centered approach, I aim to provide individuals with evidence-informed, personalised care that can help improve overall quality of life.

I was raised in Northwest Calgary and am an active member of the community. My studies began at Lakeland College where I was on a sports scholarship being an integral part of the men’s soccer team. I continued my studies in Biological Sciences at University of Alberta before completing my Doctor of Chiropractic in Toronto at Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College.

I am motivated to forge lasting relationships that emphasise overall wellness and encourage people to take a proactive approach when it comes to their health. With personal experience in combination with my knowledge in various treatment techniques I am able to provide customised care that will help patients achieve their goals.

During my free time, I enjoy participating in competitive men’s soccer along with running and cycling. A personal highlight being the completion of the Toronto Waterfront Marathon. In addition, I enjoy volunteering with various organisations in the city. When not in the clinic, you can find me in the mountains camping, hiking, skiing or spending time with my family, friends or travel
